Summary
Our client, a leading multi-franchise approved car dealership based in Cheltenham, is seeking a highly capable Vehicle Workshop Controller to join their dynamic Service Department. This role is instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the workshop and delivering exceptional customer service. The Vehicle Workshop Controller will be responsible for overseeing daily workshop activities and managing a skilled team of Technicians.

Duties:
- Oversee the daily operations of the workshop team, ensuring efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with the Service Manager and fellow Vehicle Workshop Controller to optimise processes
- Communicate effectively with customers to understand and relay vehicle repair requirements
- Monitor individual and workshop performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Plan workload distribution by utilising the skills and capabilities of the team
- Identify training and development needs to enhance team capabilities
- Liaise between the workshop and service reception regarding vehicle progress
- Maintain workshop standards in accordance with HSO and brand service requirements
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and customer satisfaction standards
Candidate Specification:
- Proven experience managing or overseeing a successful automotive workshop, or a highly skilled Vehicle Service Advisor seeking progression
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Results-driven with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- High regard for quality, efficiency, and reliability
- Competent in IT literacy
- Presentable and professional manner
- Valid UK driving license with minimal points
- Residing in or within a reasonable commute to Cheltenham
