Summary

Deighton Gates Primary School is a thriving, community-focused school with a strong caring ethos. Our dedicated team works collaboratively to create a secure, happy, purposeful, and stimulating environment where every child feels respected and valued.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Learning Mentor to work with children, families, and professionals, to remove barriers to learning and support targeted groups of pupils in achieving their full potential. This is post is 32.5 hours a week.

The successful candidate will:

• Have high expectations for pupils’ attainment, behaviour, and well-being.
• Be committed to working collaboratively as part of our team, engaging with parents, children, and other professionals to help every child thrive.
• Enjoy building effective, nurturing relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of the external pressures that can impact children and families’ ability to access education.

Assessment date is 10th February 2026, this will include a

group intervention - We would like you to organise an activity for a group of 4 children based on your understanding of the role of Learning Mentor. This can be any sort of activity but have a focus on friendship issues. We would like the activity to last 15 – 20 minutes.
