Summary
What skills and experience we're looking for
• Recent successful teaching experience or a recent qualification (PGCE) with successful teaching practices across KS4 and KS5
• Experience of Sixth Form teaching
• Experience of BTEC programmes at any level
• Degree in Business Studies/ Economics or related field
• PGCE in Business Studies
• Competence in use of ICT
• Ability to teach Business Studies to GCSE/A level and BTEC National Certificate
• Interest in Personalised Learning
• A knowledge of the variety of teaching and learning approaches which can be explored in business
• A knowledge and understanding of Assessment for Learning
• Experience of Enterprise activities
• Ability to teach Travel and Tourism at KS4
• Willingness to take and act on advice
• High expectations of oneself and of students
• A commitment to and interest in the wellbeing, support and achievement of students
• A sense of excitement about teaching and working with young people
• A belief in teamwork and co-operation with adults and students
• A broad view of the role of a teacher

An offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure with a children’s barred list check, two satisfactory references and successful completion of vetting procedures. In accordance with the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), an online search will be conducted as part of due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This post will also be subject to TRA and S128 clearances.
