Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Previous experience is required, this is to work on refuse trucks.
Responsibilities
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
Diagnose faults accurately using specialised tools and diagnostic software
Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems efficiently
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery as required
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies
Collaborate with other team members to optimise operational performance
Keep work areas clean, organised, and safe at all times
Requirements
Proven experience as a Mechanic within an industrial or manufacturing setting
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent are desirable
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential depending on the role’s requirements
