Salary: £16.40 per hour
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 to 16:00 37.5 hours a week
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our dedicated maintenance team in Halesowen. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliability of hydraulic press systems and other critical machinery across the site. This is a hands-on position, requiring a strong background in engineering and hydraulics, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize key equipment. You will also play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment for the entire production team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safety Compliance: Ensure tasks are performed in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all safety standards.
* Hydraulic Press Maintenance: Perform both preventive and reactive maintenance on hydraulic press systems to ensure optimal functionality.
* Breakdown Response: Address and resolve breakdowns quickly to minimize operational downtime.
* Critical Spares Management: Maintain and monitor critical spare parts to prevent equipment failure.
* Reliability Improvements: Participate in projects aimed at enhancing the reliability and performance of machinery.
* Hydraulic System Servicing: Regularly service and monitor hydraulic systems for optimal performance.
* Cross-Site Support: Provide engineering support across other departments when required.
* Additional Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and support other machinery within the department as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Engineering Background: Strong mechanical and hydraulic engineering skills, with extensive experience in maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Educational Requirements: Level 3 NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent in a mechanical or engineering discipline.
* Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to think analytically and logically, solving complex technical problems.
* Hydraulic Press Knowledge: Proven experience with hydraulic press operations and maintenance.
* Problem Solving: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly to minimize downtime.
* Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with production operatives and other maintenance staff.
