Summary
Manage diary and on call rota for 49 consultants and 26 registrars arranging cover for authorised absence. Communicates with range of clinical and non-clinical staff concerning progress against all consultant activities and schedule accordingly. Maintain rotas and assist in scheduling consultants and liaise with other relevant parties concerning the planning and composition of the rotas as necessary. Facilitates communication between different clinical and non-clinical teams. To exchange verbal and written information with consultants, junior medical staff, service manager and other members of the Imaging team. Asist the Service manager with the Job planning process which includes arranging meetings and recording job plans on relevant ICT systems. Receive and take relevant action on all communication from other consultants, junior medical staff, other departments and hospitals. Utilise a range of work procedures and practices, using knowledge of full range of administrative systems, software programmes, specialised functional terms. Advise registrars/junior medical staff to attend clinical, mandatory and other training commitments as necessary (e.g. induction, department IT training). Arrange meetings and tutorials as required, producing agendas and taking and transcribing minutes if required. Organise medical students and clinical attachments attached to the consultant, liaising with various departments to arrange placements, arrange teaching sessions and attendance at clinical sessions as necessary. Manage own workload and work independently within service need. Liaise with the relevant departments outside of Imaging with regards to on-calls and planning as required (e.g. weekend on-calls for switchboard and weekend plans). Ensure up to date personal awareness and knowledge of Trust wide issues and directives, applying knowledge in the workplace, including attending appropriate directorate briefings and meetings. Any other duties commensurate with the grade and in line with the requirement of the post. Processing of bank and agency escalation forms.
