What you'll be doing:
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on HVAC systems including air handling units, chillers, and ventilation equipment
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to minimise downtime
- Conduct routine inspections, filter changes, and system performance checks to ensure optimal efficiency
- Monitor and adjust building management systems (BMS) and control parameters
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logbooks, and compliance documentation
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and callouts to restore critical HVAC services
- Escort and supervise contractors during specialist maintenance and installation works
- Ensure all work complies with statutory requirements, health and safety regulations, F-Gas requirements, and industry standards
- Conduct water treatment monitoring and legionella control procedures
- Support energy efficiency initiatives through system optimisation and performance monitoring
- Liaise with clients, building occupants, and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities
- Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory to required standards
- Demonstrate willingness to undertake additional tasks as requested as part of general Facilities Management operations
What we're looking for:
- Ability to pass DBS check
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent HVAC qualification, or relevant practical experience
- F-Gas Category 1 certification
- Proven experience in HVAC maintenance within commercial or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of air conditioning, ventilation, and chiller systems
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control technologies
- Legionella awareness training and water treatment knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility to participate in on-call rota and respond to breakdowns
- IT proficiency for maintaining digital maintenance records and CAFM systems
- Physically fit and able to work at heights and in confined spaces
