JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Chief Executive Officer / CEO to lead an established organisation entering an exciting new chapter. This senior leadership role will focus on strategic development, financial sustainability, and service excellence.

As a Chief Executive Officer / CEO, you will work closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, secure funding, and ensure the organisation continues to meet the evolving needs of the community.

The Chief Executive Officer / CEO will play a pivotal role in governance, compliance, safeguarding, and organisational performance, ensuring services remain impactful, sustainable, and aligned with the organisation’s mission and values.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Chief Executive Officer / CEO include:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and deliver the organisation’s long-term strategic plan

• Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure high-quality service delivery

• Financial Oversight: Ensure financial sustainability, budgeting, and effective resource management

• People Leadership: Lead, support, and inspire staff and volunteers across the organisation

• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, funders, and the wider community

• Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and charitable requirements

• Safeguarding Leadership: Act as safeguarding lead and promote best practice across services

• Reporting and Accountability: Provide regular progress reports to the Trustee Board and funders


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Proven leadership experience within the voluntary, public, or private sector

• A strong understanding of disability issues and a commitment to equality and inclusion

• Experience in strategic planning, organisational development, and change management

• A background in fundraising, bid writing, and financial management

• Experience of reporting performance and outcomes to Boards and funders

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet reporting deadlines

• The ability to respond flexibly to changing priorities and local needs
