Summary
Reporting to: Directors / General Manager
Hotel Profile:
The Tredegar Arms Hotel is a 10-bed boutique hotel with a bar, restaurant, and function room, serving both local and visiting guests. The hotel plays a key role within the local community while also attracting leisure, business, and event-led trade.
Role Purpose:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth, increasing brand visibility, and strengthening the hotel’s market position. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities across accommodation, food and beverage, and events, while also managing and growing the hotel’s social media presence and digital engagement.
This is a commercially focused, hands-on role requiring creativity, strong relationship-building skills, and a results-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Revenue Growth
Identify and develop new revenue opportunities across hotel rooms, dining, bar trade, and functions.
Grow corporate, group, and event bookings, including weddings, private functions, and community events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, attractions, organisations, and event planners.
Develop partnerships and packages to drive occupancy and footfall.
Support pricing strategies, promotions, and seasonal offers in collaboration with the General Manager.
Sales & Account Management
Proactively generate leads and convert enquiries into confirmed business.
Manage key accounts and repeat clients to maximise long-term value.
Attend local networking events and represent the Tredegar Arms Hotel externally.
Track enquiries, conversions, and performance against agreed targets.
Marketing & Social Media Management
Own and manage all social media channels, ensuring regular, engaging, and on-brand content.
Create and schedule content showcasing the hotel, food and beverage offering, events, and promotions.
Respond to messages, comments, and reviews in a timely and professional manner.
Support campaigns to grow followers, engagement, and direct bookings.
Work with external partners where required (photography, design, advertising).
Brand & Reputation Management
Ensure brand messaging is consistent across all platforms and touchpoints.
Monitor online reputation and support review management alongside the General Manager.
Identify opportunities to increase awareness locally and regionally.
Reporting & Performance
Monitor and report on sales activity, campaign performance, and social media metrics.
Provide regular updates to the Directors and General Manager on pipeline, wins, and opportunities.
Use data and insight to refine marketing and sales activity.

Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing, ideally within hospitality, leisure, or tourism.
Strong understanding of social media platforms and content creation.
Commercial mindset with a proven ability to drive revenue.
