Summary

The University of Salford is seeking a talented and curious individual to join the Marketing team as a Marketing Officer. This role is part of the Marketing, Recruitment, and External Relations directorate, supporting student recruitment activity. You will work closely within the Marketing Team to engage our audiences which includes prospective students and their influencers, as well as academic colleagues involved in content creation and delivering events.

Reporting to a Marketing Manager, you will manage key projects and campaigns aimed at increasing student enrolment within priority subjects and markets and raising the profile of the University among prospective students. This is a dynamic role within a busy team, offering the opportunity to develop existing skills and contribute to a range of activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Plan Delivery: Assist the Marketing Manager in implementing marketing tactics aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Content Creation: Produce marketing content such as videos, web content and social media posts that promote awareness and drive recruitment for key programmes.
  • ‎Manage digital content: Check and update content on the University website and third-party sites to ensure information being shown to prospective applicants is accurate, useful, and compelling.
  • Paid Marketing Campaigns: Plan, set up, review, and optimise digital marketing campaigns across platforms like Meta, TikTok, and PPC to achieve targeted engagement and meet KPIs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teams including recruitment, design, communications, social media, and insights to ensure cohesive and measurable marketing activities.
  • Support the delivery of key recruitment events through the cycle such as Open Days and Offer Holder Days. This will involve occasional weekend work where events fall on Saturdays, for example.

You should have experience across the marketing mix, particularly in delivering integrated, measurable solutions in digital and social media marketing. The role also requires a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring prospective students have access to the information they need to make informed decisions.
