About the Role
We are now looking for a skilled Service Technician (Construction Mechanic) to join our team. This role is both workshop- and field-based, where you’ll carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of machinery including tractors, construction equipment, and groundcare tools.
You’ll be key in supporting our customers by ensuring their equipment is operating at peak performance, while also contributing to the efficiency and professionalism of our service team.
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair faults on construction, agricultural and groundcare machinery.
• Carry out on-site servicing and breakdown repairs as required.
• Undertake pre-delivery inspections and machine setups.
• Complete job cards, timesheets, risk assessments, and other documentation accurately.
• Maintain a tidy and organised workspace, supporting the overall efficiency of the workshop.
• Mentor apprentices and support colleagues across the service team.
• Follow all health and safety procedures at all times.
• Participate in training and development to stay up to date with the latest technologies.
What We’re Looking For
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in a mechanical/ technician role (construction preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic software and follow technical manuals.
• Computer literate with experience using diagnostic tools.
• Full driving licence required (forklift/truck licence preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Flexible with working hours, including occasional weekends and overtime.
• LTA/NVQ qualification (or equivalent) preferred.
