About Waythrough

Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.

Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.

Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the role...
A new opportunity has arisen to be part of an exciting partnership as part of the Probation Dependency and Recovery service led by Ingeus. Dependency and Recovery services are tailored to the assessed individual needs of 18+ Male Service Users on community orders and post-release licences as part of the community Probation system.

Recovery Navigators work in an outcome focused environment which is achieved by bespoke case management, one-to-one support to assess health and lifestyle risks, building trust and undertaking activities and interventions delivered face-to-face. Recovery Navigators motivate people to successfully understand and manage their dependency and recovery needs, to develop skills to change to a healthier lifestyle and to support engagement with treatment services. They will support people in maintaining their motivation to change and engagement with their probation supervision. Recovery Navigators will work in partnership with Waythrough Senior Recovery Navigators, Ingeus Recovery teams, Team Managers, NPS Responsible Officers, IOM, police and community support services.

Key duties will include:

Hold the professional relationship with the Responsible Probation Officer (RO) to support people through one-to-one and group interventions.
Hold 1-2-1 relationships and single case-holder for continuity of contact.
Conduct an initial assessment with all those referred, to assess the appropriate level of support required for their personal wellbeing journey.
Prepare and agree individual action plans, following initial assessment, and regularly review progress with the person.
Work with people of varying complexity of need and across each Complexity Level (as applicable)
Proactively manage a caseload across low, medium and high levels of need and complexity, in line with the information contained within the Referral provided by the RO.
Provide support and advocacy and information, advice and guidance to address need(s).
