We are a family who are looking to employ a Welsh speaking Personal Assistant to provide support at home for a family member. The hours of work will be split over the week, Monday to Friday. Schedules will be agreed in advance.
In this role you will be spending time at home with our loved one enabling us time away from our caring role.
As part of the role, you will provide company and social interaction, taking part in activities in the home which they may want to engage in. This could include such things as, sitting watching television, having a chat, or food and drink preparation.
Ideally applicants will be familiar with and have knowledge of our local area. This will help our loved one stay in touch with and feel part of local events and news, which they may not be able to engage with in person.
There may also be times when they wish to go for a walk around the local area. You will be required to support them; by ensuring they are wearing weather appropriate clothing, and that they safely navigate their environment. You will also play an important role in maintaining social engagement for our loved one, keeping them active and connected.

This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant. If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months.
Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
