Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cardio-Respiratory Unit at Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. Our services are friendly, busy, and rapidly expanding, providing high-quality diagnostic care across multiple hospital and community sites.
We deliver a comprehensive range of cardiac and respiratory investigations, including resting ECGs, 24-hour ECG and blood pressure monitoring, event recording, transthoracic, transesophageal and stress echocardiography, cardiac rhythm management device follow-up (Pacemaker, ICD, CRT-D, ILR), and lung function testing.
Our services are based across Queen’s Hospital, King George Hospital, and community locations such as Barking Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub, Hornchurch. In addition, our cardiac catheterisation laboratory at King George Hospital provides diagnostic coronary angiography and a full range of cardiac device implantation services.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team. The post holder will independently perform, interpret, and report echocardiograms, assist with cardiac device implantation, and undertake device follow-up clinics across all aspects of Cardiac Rhythm Management.
Applicants must hold BSE Adult Transthoracic Accreditation (or equivalent) and/or IBHRE certification (or equivalent), and be committed to delivering excellent patient-centred care.
To perform cardiology diagnostic investigations (Transthoracic Echocardiograms/CRM Services) in order to support both the in-patient and outpatient services within the Trust.

We run aWomen’s Health Hub in Ilford; anAgeing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) atBarking Community Hospital and atSt George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
