Hours:40 hours per week, 5 days (participationin on-call rota required)
About the Role
We areseeking a skilled and dedicatedElectrician tojoin our Estates Hard Services team at Queen’s Hospital, Romford. In this role,you will ensure the safe operation and maintenance of all electrical plant andequipment across the hospital site. You will carry out planned preventativemaintenance (PPM), statutory, routine, and reactive work in compliance withSodexo and NHS Trust safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair electrical systems including distribution, lighting, fire detection, security systems, and critical plant.
- Undertake fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs on complex systems.
- Provide technical advice and liaise with contractors and suppliers.
- Participate in the on-call system and provide emergency cover as required.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and Sodexo policies.
- Use CAFM systems for work processing and monitoring.
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of a structured electrical training program (apprenticeship).
- Relevant City & Guilds qualifications.
- Experience in a maintenance environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical plant, systems, and statutory compliance.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
- Willingness to attend specialist training and undertake Authorised Person duties.
Desirable:
- Experience in an acute hospital environment.
- IT skills and knowledge of critical electrical systems.

- Availability for on-call duties (30-minute response time).
- Ability to work overtime and provide additional cover when required.
