Personal Assistant
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 36 year-old male residing in the Cardiff Bay area.
As someone who is totally blind with cerebral palsy, my greatest passion is music. I create my own electronic compositions, primarily in the grime and techno genres. I enjoy attending club nights, music and important events, whenever possible.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
I am seeking assistance with daily activities and accessing the wider community.
PLACE OF WORK
Cardiff Bay, out in the community and taking to events as when needed.
HOURS OF WORK
Relief PA required to cover holidays/sickness
44 Hours per week
RATE OF PAY
£15.00
TASKS INVOLVED
Preparing and cooking meals a couple of days per week
Supporting me to sort out clothing
Taking me to appointments
Carry out household chores including cleaning
Take me out to do shopping
Accessing activities in Cardiff, Newport, Bristol and further afield
Take me to Bristol
Reading my letters and bringing any parcels I may receive.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
Be dynamic and flexible, capable of handling diverse situations
Show empathy while maintaining a positive attitude and good sense
of humour
Confident with strong people skills
Tech-savvy with strong skills in computer and mobile device usage.
Have a car and be able to drive with business insurance (Essential)
Passion for music appreciated but not essential
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You may be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
