Senior Quantity Surveyor (6-Month Contract)

FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading national service provider within the Water and Wastewater sector for an experienced to Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a 6-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile, essential infrastructure projects while working for a forward-thinking and well-established contractor.
The Opportunity based in Derby, with flexible hybrid working, you will play a key role in the commercial management of one or more projects. Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of cost control, contract administration, and commercial performance while supporting and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
Lead quantity surveying activities across allocated projects and work packages
Collaborate closely with design, construction, and supply chain teams to manage and control costs
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring commercial and business requirements are met
Administer main contracts, ensuring all notices and correspondence are issued accurately and on time
Prepare and issue subcontract documentation and manage subcontractor performance
Oversee payment applications and support agreement of final accounts
Produce accurate cost reports, budgets, forecasts, and value assessments
Support the development and mentoring of junior commercial staff
Maintain continuous professional development through industry engagement and networking
Promote a positive, solution-focused culture with open and constructive communication
Ensure confidentiality and discretion across all commercial matters
About You
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
Working towards or holding chartered status with a recognised professional body
Proven experience within utilities, civil engineering, or MEICA environments
Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts
Confident communicator with a proactive and collaborative approach
