One of the country's friendliest racecourses, with a reputation for a warm, relaxed atmosphere. Set in the beautiful Durham countryside, Sedgefield Racecourse hosts 20 fixtures over the year and is also available for venue hire.
About the role:
As a Casual Stable Staff member, you’ll help with the maintenance, preparation and presentation of the racecourse stables. This will mainly involve cleaning out stables to a high standard and making sure everything is ready for upcoming race meetings.
You’ll work as part of a team and follow instructions from the Clerk of the Course or Head Grounds Person.
We’re looking for someone reliable, practical and happy to get stuck in. Any issues or problems should be reported to your supervisor so they can be dealt with quickly.
The person we are looking for as Casual Stable Manager….
To take full responsibility for:
The Stables, Veterinary Treatment box and Sample area
Maintain correct documentation & registers
The Stables ground & surrounding area
The Stables office
CCTV
Liaise with Hostel/Inn manager regards staff requirements
Ensure the stables have been cleaned out to a high standard according to the BHA guidelines and ARC Standard.
Under the direction of the Clerk of the Course, carry out a maintenance programme for the course. The work entails working outside in changing and often inclement weather conditions and can be physically demanding.
You will be required to use various gardening, agricultural equipment, machinery, vehicles and chemicals in the process of carrying out your duties.
Abide by all regulations and safe working practices in accordance with current legislation and as detailed in the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
