About the role

Following the recent selection process for our new Deputy Chief Fire Officer, we are now seeking an inspirational, innovative and effective leader to take up the prestigious opportunity of Assistant Chief Fire Officer.

Reporting directly to the Chief Fire Officer, you will ensure that the Service is operationally efficient in accordance with statutory requirements and that the levels of service provision are kept under regular review.
This is a rare opportunity to help shape and influence the future of fire and rescue whilst ensuring our service continues to protect lives, reduce risk and support our communities with professionalism, innovation and care.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a firm commitment to inclusivity, fairness, dignity and the highest standards of ethical behaviours and champion these in their day-to-day work in compliance with our ethical code of conduct.

Applicants must be a substantive and operationally sector competent Area Manager as a minimum, within a local authority or devolved administration Fire and Rescue Service.
