Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team at Harborne Road.

You will be required to work as part of the management team to provide professional leadership and management to the nursery staff ensuring that children receive the highest standards of care and education and achieve to their fullest potential in a purposeful, friendly, caring and relaxing environment in which they are safe and happy at all times.

You will undertake the overall day to day management of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.

You will assist the Nursery Manager in ensuring that all legislation in relation to registration with regulatory bodies, special needs, safeguarding and child protection is complied with and that polices are adhered to at all times.

You will need to have the following:

Level 3 in Early Years.
Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience working with children from 0-5 years.
Experience of leading/supervising and supporting staff teams to improve practice.
Experience of leading/supervising and supporting staff teams to improve practice.
A sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years.
A sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
An understanding of play a based approach to children’s learning and development
Knowledge and Understanding of the regulatory bodies.
Understanding of the role of key person.
A sound knowledge of all safeguarding procedures.
Good organisational skills
Ability to lead a team.
Ability to effectively communicate with both adults and children.
Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies.
An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities.
An understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
A willingness to undertake further relevant training including some evenings and weekends.
