Deputy Headteacher – SEND Provision (Rochdale)
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a committed and inspirational Deputy Headteacher to join a specialist SEND provision based in Rochdale. This is a pivotal leadership role for someone passionate about improving outcomes for pupils with complex and diverse needs.
The RoleAs Deputy Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the provision, working closely with the Headteacher to lead teaching, learning, behaviour, and inclusion across the school. You will be highly visible, hands-on, and driven by a strong moral purpose to ensure every pupil feels safe, valued, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities-
Support the Headteacher in the day-to-day leadership and long-term development of the provision

Lead on teaching and learning, ensuring high-quality, inclusive practice across all classrooms

Champion SEND best practice for pupils with complex needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH, PMLD, SLD)

Promote positive behaviour, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

Line manage and develop staff, fostering a culture of high expectations and collaboration

Work effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate-
An experienced senior leader (Assistant Head, Deputy Head, or similar) within SEND or alternative provision

Strong understanding of complex SEND and inclusive education

Confident, empathetic leader with excellent behaviour and pastoral insight

Passionate about staff development and building a positive school culture

Resilient, adaptable, and committed to long-term school improvement
