Summary

Female Personal Assistant Required - Leyland LILS/LM/GR
Seeking a compassionate, caring, neuroaffirmative female Personal Assistant to support a 26 year old woman who thrives in environments that promote physical wellbeing, validation and emotional safety.
This young woman has autism, ADHD, FND (functional neurological disorder), NEAD (non-epileptic attack disorder), Chronic Fatigue, PTSD and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) so experience or an understanding of hidden disabilities would be ideal. This role is ideal for someone with experience or interest in working alongside neurodivergent young people using a person-centred approach. Must be understanding, patient, willing to take instruction and use their own initiative when required.
As a Personal Assistant your duties will include promoting independence, emotional regulation and safety, support to create and maintain social connections and engage in therapies for wellbeing and establishing and encouraging a routine. This role will include a fair amount of administration/organisational tasks so an organisational or systemic Personal Assistant will be suited to this role.
Other duties will include prompting and occasional light personal care, light domestic duties such as light cleaning, laundry and day to day household tasks. You will be assisting the young woman with her relationship with family and friends, in and outside of the home and helping care for her pet dog and turtle.
This young woman enjoys cooking and baking, and so assistance with cooking, meal preparation and nutrition intake is also part of this role. Communication and engagement skills, reliability, honesty are essential to this role. Genuine passion for helping others and a strong work ethic is crucial.
Due to her disabilities the young woman requires assistance with mobility aids such as a wheelchair or mobility scooter to access the community, so your own car and driving licence is essential. This role will also include occasionally taking the young woman to healthcare and hospital appointments.
This is a part time position for 10 hours a week. The hours will tend to be mid-week over three days but this is subject to change to accommodate medical and social appointments, so an element of flexibility would be desirable.
Rate of pay is £13 per hour plus 5.6 weeks paid annual leave pro rata and a workplace pension scheme. Must be willing to undertake a DBS check (the cost of which will be covered by the employer).
Permitted under Schedule 9, part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
