About Us:

MadiganGill is a leading recruitment agency specialising in the construction and engineering sectors. We are currently looking for an experienced Groundworker to join a major project in Didcot, Oxford, starting at the beginning of February. This role is initially a 6-month contract, with the potential for the project to extend for up to 3 years due to different phases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all aspects of groundworks, including excavation, drainage, kerbing, concreting, and paving.

  • Dig and level trenches, lay foundations, and ensure all groundwork is completed according to the project's specifications.

  • Install and maintain drainage systems and utilities.

  • Work closely with site managers and other trades to ensure work is carried out efficiently and on time.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Assist with site preparation and clean-up as needed.

  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

  • Complete daily reports on progress and site issues.

Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in all aspects of groundworks.

  • A valid CSCS card is essential.

  • Ability to use a variety of groundworks tools and machinery.

  • Strong understanding of construction site practices, procedures, and regulations.

  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

  • A proactive and problem-solving attitude.

  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.

  • A valid driving license is an advantage.
