Seeking a Senior Data Engineers to help build scalable, high-quality data solutions/ platforms that enable analytics and business insights. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong data engineering skills and experience in regulated environments.
Working for renowned commodities, metals, trades, exchange group, you'll be working on a strategic metals initiative, delivering platform cost efficiencies and modernising ETL processes.

You'll be a key part of the Enterprise Data team helping to replace legacy ETL tools (Informatica) and deliver a modern data engineering platform. Your work will include building out a new platform from scratch, managing data pipelines, supporting analysis and visualization, and collaborating with ETL developers and wider technology teams to deliver solutions aligned with our strategic roadmap.You'll work across backend, data, and infrastructure engineering, contributing to solution design, implementation, deployment, testing, and support.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You are a seasoned Data Engineer
  • Experience building new data platforms from scratch, including low‑level and high‑level design.
  • Strong coding skills in Java (Spring Boot) for data engineering and services.
  • Proven background working within financial services environments.
  • Hands-on experience building and managing Apache Spark and Hadoop clusters.
  • Deep experience in big data engineering, including Hadoop, Kafka, and Spark‑based data pipelines.
  • Strong SQL and RDBMS experience: PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
  • Experience with NoSQL / distributed databases, such as MongoDB.
  • Proven delivery of streaming pipelines and real‑time data processing solutions.
  • Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP (open to any).
  • Skilled with containerisation technologies: Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
