TeacherActive is currently recruiting Residential Support Workers to work within children’s residential homes in Preston.

You will be supporting children and young people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs in a safe, structured and nurturing environment. The homes are part of a well-established UK provider that specialises in high-quality residential care, education and clinical support for children and young people, with a strong focus on safeguarding, positive outcomes and trauma-informed care.

The Role:

• Supporting children and young people with daily routines and personal care where required

  
  

• Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour

  
  

• Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model

  
  

• Supporting education, activities and community engagement

  
  

• Maintaining accurate records and working closely with the wider care team

  
  

• Ensuring a safe, stable and supportive environment at all times

  
  Shift Patterns:

  • Day shifts

  • Waking night shifts

    
    

    Flexible shift availability to suit your schedule.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Experience working with children or young people in a care, support or residential setting (desirable but not essential)

      
      

    • A compassionate, patient and resilient approach

      
      

    • Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and professionally

      
      

    • Strong communication and teamwork skills

      
      

    • Willingness to complete training and undergo enhanced DBS checks
