What will my role be as a Collections and Exhibitions Coordinator?
The purpose of the job is to work with the Touchstones Collections and Exhibitions Team to support with the provision, planning,
development and promotion of the Arts and Heritage Service. This includes coordinating all aspects of collections management
practices, particularly the care, conservation and documentation of the collection. Providing maximum access to the collections
for existing and new audiences through the preparation and presentation of exhibitions and displays and programming, developing
and delivering workshops, events and activities linked to collection and exhibition themes.
What do I need to have?
* Qualified to Degree Level or equivalent professional qualification in a related area or qualified by experience
* Experience of preparing and presenting exhibitions and displays
* Experience of organising creative events and/or activities for the public
* Experience of caring for, handling and working with historic collections and/or works or art
* Ability to develop positive relationships with communities, stakeholders, partners and members of the public
* Knowledge of and enthusiasm for arts and heritage
* Excellent diplomacy and communication skills when interacting with communities, stakeholders, and partners
* Knowledge and experience of documentation procedures and current standards in museums, galleries or equivalent environment
* Ability to work within a team with common objectives with a can-do attitude, a high degree of flexibility and the ability to
respond proactively
* Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent time management skills
