We work creatively with individuals, local communities and our partners, empowering them to deliver the best possible outcomes for people and to create a positive Adult Social Care culture. Our work is solution focussed, ensuring that those who most need support receive it and that we can continue supporting people in the future.
There is an exciting opportunity available - We are looking to appoint a Grade 9 Specialist Supported Living Social Worker, based within the High Needs Team in Hull.
If you are inspired by a challenge and want to make a lasting difference, to support adults who have been assessed as having Care Act Needs and may have a diagnosis of Learning Disability, Autism or Mental Health and or physical health support ; we look forward to hearing from you.
You will work as part of an integrated multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality social work practice. You will ensure individuals have a solution focussed, strength-based plan towards achieving their goals and maintaining their independence in a supported living environment.
The team you will be part of follows a Multi-Disciplinary approach, working alongside health professionals, probation, criminal justice, housing and commissioning bespoke provisions with our commissioning managers; to deliver the best possible outcomes for Adults living in Hull.
We are looking for individuals who have a social work qualification and are registered with Social work England who can demonstrate:

A strong value base that informs your work with individuals who have eligible Care Act needs in relation to supported living
A continuing commitment to quality outcomes - and to be able to talk about what good Social Work practice 'looks like'
A capacity for honest reflection and openness to learning
Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues, adults, families and their carers
The ability to work in a multidisciplinary arena to promote autonomy and implement personalised safeguarding
Understand the complexities involved with vulnerable persons
Experience of supervising staff and supporting AYSE social workers and providing mentoring role for apprentices and trainee social workers as required
Experience with Court of protection work and Community Deprivation of Liberty
Have experience of the criminal justice system
Work as part of a team and can work autonomously and be confident to make complex decisions for individuals who are vulnerable.

You will hold a professional social work qualification registered to Social Work England and will have experience of assessment and planning, initiating, monitoring, developing and providing outcomes-driven services.
We provide a range of benefits to motivate, reward and recognise the valuable work of our employees, which include:

Work/Life Balance - The Council recognises that all employees need to balance home life with meeting work commitments through the provision of appropriate policies and support, for example, family and parental leave, flexible hours and career break schemes.
Learning and Development - The Council has a commitment to lifelong learning. We provide excellent development opportunities for all employees.
Pension - We provide a defined benefit pension scheme whereby the Council contributes towards a pension payable on retirement
Employee discounts - There are a selection of voluntary benefits available giving a wide variety of staff discounts on goods and services from a range of suppliers via our Hull plus website
Relocation Allowance available to minimise any financial detriment which may be incurred by newly appointed staff moving from outside the area
Laptops and telephone for all social workers, to enable them to work smarter and more flexibly

You must be able to provide and support the delivery of high-quality social work activities, however, we have opportunities for different levels of experience as follows:
This post is for you if you have completed your ASYE and can demonstrate increased decision-making autonomy in situations of increasing complexity, risk, uncertainty and challenge.
