Summary
Personal Assistant (PA) Required – Morecambe Area
We are looking for a kind, reliable, and respectful Personal Assistant to support an intelligent adult client living in the Morecambe area.
Hours & Pay
• Initially: 3 hours per week, working alongside the current PA
• Increase to: 4.5 hours per week once confident working independently
• Future opportunity: 10.5 hours per week when the main PA retires
• Hourly rate: £12.21
• Working day: Friday afternoons (exact times flexible and to be discussed at interview)
Role Overview
The PA will provide support with:
• Daily living activities
• Social and leisure activities
• Shopping
• Attending doctors’ appointments (occasionally)
• Form filling (e.g. benefits, occasionally)
• Contacting services such as banks or social services when required
The client must not be left alone when out in the community or during activities due to epilepsy.
About the Client
The client is intelligent, emotionally aware, and has many skills and talents. While he sometimes struggles with communication, he has high emotional intelligence and wants to be understood and respected. He does not want to be bossed about but is open to suggestions when his opinions are valued.
He enjoys:
• Cycling (very important — the PA should be a confident and capable cyclist)
• Walking
• Swimming (occasionally)
Essential & Desirable Requirements
• Enhanced DBS required (children are present in the home)
• Kind, patient, supportive, and respectful nature
• Good timekeeping
• Comfortable with basic technology
• Willingness to learn and adapt communication styles
• Able to explain information clearly (including things read or watched)
• Willing to research topics online to help the client better understand them
Knowledge of epilepsy is beneficial but not essential, as training will be provided.

The successful applicant should be open-minded, willing to learn, and genuinely interested in supporting the client to live an active, fulfilling life while respecting his independence, opinions, and abilities.
