Summary
Catherine Fookes MP is looking for a Caseworker in her constituency office. If you want a fulfilling job, helping to resolve problems and issues that people in Monmouthshire are facing, and would relish being part of a friendly and effective team this is the job for you!
The caseworker will deliver timely, relevant advice and responses to constituent's enquiries. Candidates will ideally have some experience of working in a dynamic office and of communicating effectively with the public from all walks of life.
The job is a hybrid role with at least two days per week in the constituency office in Monmouthshire and the role holder will be expected to attend regular surgeries with the MP.
Job Requirements
Working under the supervision of our excellent Senior Case-Worker the Caseworker will:
Ensure that all emails and cases are properly logged, responses agreed and drafted and ongoing monitoring organised
Manage a large caseload of complex cases, working in a professional, confidential, caring, and sensitive manner
Take daily phone calls from constituents and assist at face to face surgeries and take the appropriate action
Comply with all relevant data protection legislation
Required experience:
• Experience working in an office
• Polite, confident and empathetic approach to the public
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle difficult or emotive situations in a sensitive manner
• Highly motivated and well organised
• Interest and willingness to learn about relevant casework areas eg welfare, pensions
• Proficient in relevant software, Outlook, Office and ideally caseworker management systems such as "Caseworker"
• Sympathy with the aims and values of the Labour Party
Desirable
• Knowledge of the Monmouthshire constituency
• Driver with use of a car
