Summary
Design Coordination & Management
- Assist in managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
- Support the coordination of architects, engineers, and specialist subcontractors
- Help ensure design information is issued on time and in line with the construction programme
- Review design deliverables for compliance with employer's requirements and project specifications
Technical & Compliance Support
- Assist with design risk management and identification of buildability issues
- Support compliance with building regulations, planning conditions, and industry standards
- Help manage design changes and maintain accurate design records
- Assist in resolving design-related queries (RFIs) during construction
Project & Stakeholder Support
- Attend design team meetings and produce minutes and action logs
- Liaise with internal teams (commercial, site, planning, and procurement)
- Support value engineering and design optimisation exercises
- Assist in coordinating design input for tender and procurement activities
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain design trackers, registers, and drawing schedules
- Support document control processes and ensure correct version control
- Assist in compiling design reports and handover documentation
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Good technical understanding of construction and design processes
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Some experience (placement, graduate, or early career) within construction or design management
- Basic understanding of construction methods and design stages
