Summary
Role Overview
To provide high quality, person centred care and support to individuals, enabling them to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity, either in their own homes or in a care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Provide personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration
Support with medication in line with training and care plans
Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
Offer emotional support and companionship
Assist with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping
Accurately record care provided and report any changes in health or wellbeing
Follow care plans, risk assessments, and company policies
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals
Maintain confidentiality and comply with safeguarding procedures
Requirements
A caring, compassionate, and patient nature
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliability and flexibility, including weekends or evenings if required
Right to work in the UK
Previous care experience
Desirable
Certificates such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
Experience in domiciliary or residential care
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (for community roles)
