What would you be doing as a Platform Specialist here at PayPlan?

Payplan is embarking on a major transformation of its data insight capabilities under the direction of our new CTO. At the heart
of this transformation is Metabase, our chosen BI platform. We are seeking a Platform Specialist who will act as the company’s
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Metabase — leading its rollout, ensuring adoption across the organisation, and unlocking its full
potential.

This is a pivotal role: you will help consolidate existing reports and dashboards into Metabase, design new ones, and guide the
team in best practices. You’ll be the go-to person for all things Metabase, helping us embed data-driven decision-making into the
business.

Working Arrangement

* This is a hybrid role, requiring 2 days per week in the Grantham office.
* For the ideal candidate, there is potential to transition to a fully remote arrangement after the first 12 months, once the
platform rollout and team upskilling are firmly established.

As a Platform Specialist here at PayPlan you will:

* Be a major player in the rollout and implementation of Metabase across the organisation.
* Consolidate pre-existing reports and dashboards into Metabase, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
* Design, build, and maintain dashboards, scheduled reports, and automated insights.
* Act as the Metabase SME, advising on best practices, governance, and optimisation.
* Upskill and mentor team members to use Metabase effectively, fostering a self-service analytics culture.
* Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable dashboards and queries.
* Collaborate with IT and data teams to integrate Metabase with existing systems and data sources.
* Document processes, standards, and training materials for ongoing use.
* Stay current with Metabase updates and BI trends, proactively recommending improvements.

You will have:

* Strong SQL skills (essential).
* Proven experience in rolling out Metabase across an organisation
* Ability to act as a trainer/mentor, upskilling colleagues in BI tools.
* Experience consolidating and migrating reports/dashboards from legacy systems.
* Knowledge of Oracle databases (desirable).
* Familiarity with Python and Jupyter notebooks (beneficial).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills to bridge technical solutions with business needs.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of platform success.

What We Offer

* A unique opportunity to shape the future of data insight at Payplan.
* Direct influence on how the organisation leverages BI tools.
* Exposure to strategic projects under the guidance of the Head of Data Insight and CTO.
* A collaborative environment where your expertise will make an immediate impact.
