JobIntroduction

In this vital role, working as a skilled Chef you willbe cooking high-quality meals to ensure safe, nutritious, and welcomingenvironments for residents and staff.

You’ll be responsible for preparing, cooking, andserving meals at HMPPS Newbold, managing all aspects of food production on yourown. Your efforts will directly contribute to the health and well-being of theresidents.


What you’ll do:

  • Independently prepare and cook a variety of meals according to scheduled menus at different sites.
  • Travel between locations using a company-provided vehicle and fuel card.
  • Manage your own schedule to ensure meals are prepared and served on time, with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with site staff and other departments to ensure smooth operations and provide updates as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all areas, including kitchens and dining spaces.
  • Restock essential kitchen supplies like ingredients, utensils, and cleaning products.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times, ensuring compliance while working alone.

What you bring:

  • Previous experience in a cooking or catering role is desirable, along with knowledge of food safety and kitchen procedures.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time and tasks efficiently while working alone.
  • The ability to remain self-motivated and proactive when working without direct supervision.
  • A positive, independent, and team-oriented attitude, with a willingness to follow direction when needed.
