The role
The school is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work one-to-one with a Year 4 pupil who presents with autism and ADHD. The pupil is bright, energetic, and benefits from clear routines, positive reinforcement, movement breaks, and consistent adult support throughout the day.
Your role will include:
- Providing 1:1 support both in class and during transitions
- Implementing personalised strategies for attention, regulation, and behaviour
- Using visual aids, timetables, and structured routines
- Supporting learning in English and Maths at KS2 level
- Liaising with the SENCO, class teacher, and external professionals
- Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional regulation
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience supporting pupils with autism and/or ADHD
- Confidence managing high-energy behaviours using positive behaviour strategies
- A caring, patient and proactive approach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport
- Immediate availability for an ASAP start
