Role purpose To provide high-quality, safe and compassionate primary care to patients registered at The Paddock Surgery, working as an integral member of the wider multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities Clinical care Provide timely, patient-centred consultations for acute, chronic and preventive care. Assess, diagnose, manage and review patients in line with best practice and local/national guidance. Provide appropriate safety-netting, follow-up and referral where needed. Support continuity of care, including long-term condition management. Contribute to home visits and on-the-day care as appropriate to the rota. Prescribing and results Issue and review prescriptions safely and appropriately. Review, interpret and act on pathology results, reports and correspondence. Clinical governance & quality Participate in QOF, IIF and practice/PCN quality improvement work. Contribute to clinical audits, significant event reviews and safeguarding processes. Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records. Teamworking Work collaboratively with GPs, Physician Associates, ACPs, TNAs, Nurses and the wider team. Offer advice and support to colleagues within your professional competence. Attend and contribute to clinical meetings and case discussions. Professional development Maintain GMC registration and revalidation requirements. Engage in learning, reflection and appraisal, and develop areas of clinical interest. Administrative responsibilities Handle reasonable clinical admin linked to your patients (letters, tasks, medication queries etc.), shared fairly across the team. Working pattern 46 sessions per week (with some flexibility by agreement). Person specification (summary) Essential GMC-registered GP with right to work in the UK Inclusion (or eligibility) on the performers list Commitment to high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care Strong communication and teamwork skills Desirable Interest in quality improvement, teaching, leadership or specialist clinics Experience working in UK primary care systems
