About the Role

This strategic leadership role is responsible for shaping and delivering Integrated Lifestyle and Public Health prevention initiatives. The post holder will lead the development of strategic approaches that influence both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader system priorities.

In addition to corporate responsibilities, the role oversees the direction and integration of multiple operational teams and programmes. It requires expert knowledge of behaviour change methodologies, leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, alongside strong leadership in managing a diverse portfolio which subject to varied reporting and regulatory frameworks.

As part of the Senior Leadership structure, the post holder will contribute to a wide range of cross-cutting workstreams, driving innovation, collaboration, and service excellence.

About You

To apply for this post, you must:

  • To continue to develop, deliver and maintain strong, efficient and reliable partnerships, with all key stakeholders and partners working across the statutory and voluntary sector, community organisations and groups and other council departments, through creating mutual trust and respect and thereby be able to constructively challenge and influence decision making within all organisations
  • To apply leadership, management, and direct intervention to deliver an evidence-based, accessible and effective integrated lifestyle service
  • To performance manage using credible and reliable intelligence data to inform and support effective management, service delivery and monitoring; feed into statutory reporting and identify any areas of concern
  • To effectively represent and maintain the profile of the service by playing an active role in key steering groups/boards at national, regional, county and district level and linking in with identified priorities and new legislative drivers
  • A professional qualification at master's level or above relevant to Public Health
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategy in a complex, multi-professional and multi-organisational environment
  • Demonstrable experience of meeting challenging deadlines whilst managing a highly sensitive workload with multiple competing priorities, whilst maintaining calm, order and rigour
