Summary

The Role
The Engineering Department at Blackpool & The Fylde College (B&FC) is looking for a dedicated Programme Leader in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace specialisms) to lead and inspire our engineering provision. This is a fantastic opportunity to guide curriculum development, foster academic excellence, and shape the future of engineering education at one of the UK’s leading colleges.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
As a Programme Leader in Engineering, you will play a central role in delivering and leading high-quality teaching and curriculum design. Key responsibilities include:
Leading curriculum design, development, and delivery, ensuring programmes meet awarding body requirements, industry standards, and learner needs.
Managing the operational coordination of engineering programmes, including quality indicators such as attendance, retention, achievement, and student progress.
Delivering inclusive, high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment, supported by innovative learning resources and effective use of digital platforms.
Driving continuous improvement, including course reviews, quality improvement plans, and monitoring action plans to enhance the learner experience.
Supporting staff development and professional practice within the curriculum area, ensuring subject expertise and pedagogical approaches remain current.
Contributing to student recruitment and engagement, including interviews, Initial Advice and Guidance (IAG), Open Days, and curriculum events.
Engaging with the wider academic community, contributing through scholarship, research, and professional or industrial practice.
