An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Manager to join the North West Ambulance Service’s established Programme Management Office (PMO). This is an excellent opportunity for further development of project and programme management skills for the right candidate.

The PMO here at NWAS is filled with friendly, dynamic and skilled project professionals with a great ethos and drive for delivery. We are supportive, compassionate and focused on improving patient care with the projects we are delivering. We offer a clear career pathway and are passionate about developing our staff to succeed in their project management journey.

The post holder will be based in Broughton but will be expected to work in a flexible manner across the whole NWAS footprint. Regular travel in your own vehicle will be required (subject to Agenda for Change terms & conditions) whilst a reduction in unnecessary journeys via the use of technology will be actively encouraged.

Working as part of the Centre of Excellence within the PMO, your role will be to support the delivery of assigned projects within defined programmes of work through application of project management tools, techniques and experience, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with Trust project governance. You will take a proactive approach to updating project plans and project controls, including recording actions and understanding and recording risks, issues and lessons learnt; taking detailed minutes is also an essential part of this role. Furthermore you will support project leads in achieving key project milestones within agreed financial, scope and time parameters identified within the project documentation. You will also support the PMO Analyst in managing and maintaining our Project Portfolio Management (PPM) System and in reporting project related information aligned to the Central Change Portfolio to relevant stakeholders and forums.

The role requires an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has excellent attention to detail, you must be a team player, able to prioritise and manage a diverse workload within tight deadlines, be confident at report writing, have good analytical skills and be competent in the use of IT packages; outlook, word and excel.

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport.

Our highly skilled staff provide life-saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed.
We also provide non-emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non-emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Please ensure you have read the full Job Description and Person Specification before applying for this role.

The Trust reserves the right to close this vacancy early if a large number of applications are received.
