Summary
The Healthcare Assistant HCA will work as part of the clinical team to provide high quality, compassionate care to patients. The role involves supporting nurses, GPs, and other healthcare professionals by carrying out delegated clinical and administrative tasks in line with training and competence. Key Responsibilities Perform clinical duties such as observations, blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis, ECGs, venepuncture, wound care, and assisting with clinics (e.g., chronic disease, flu, and vaccination sessions). Support patient health promotion activities, including lifestyle advice and signposting. Prepare and maintain clinical areas, ensuring equipment is clean, safe, and stocked. Accurately record patient information using the clinical system(e.g., EMIS. Assist with administrative tasks such as recalls, screening checks, and patient flow during clinics. Provide respectful, person centred care at all times. Governance and Compliance Work in accordance with all practice policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures, including infection control, safeguarding, data protection, confidentiality, health and safety, and clinical governance requirements. Maintain mandatory training and participate in audits, supervision, and quality improvement activities.
