This is an opportunity for a people-focused leader who thrives on building strong teams, driving performance, and ensuring efficient, compliant transport operations.
You’ll manage a variety of transport functions — including general haulage, pallet network, and tanker operations — bringing teams together under a single, unified approach. You will have a proven track record in transport management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and develop people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage transport teams across multiple divisions, including planners, drivers, and operational staff.
• Foster a positive, high-performing culture built on teamwork, communication, and accountability.
• Develop and implement personal development plans (PDPs) and conduct regular 1:1s to support staff growth.
• Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring compliance with legal, safety, and company standards.
• Take ownership of route planning, vehicle utilisation, and resource allocation to maximise efficiency and service excellence.
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, driver hours, and fleet management requirements.
• Collaborate closely with operations and planning teams to deliver outstanding service across the UK and Europe.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, communication, and overall operational performance.
Key Requirements:
• CPC qualification (essential).
• Proven experience in transport management, ideally including pallet network operations, as well as general haulage or tanker experience.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and unify teams across multiple sites.
• Excellent knowledge of transport compliance, driver hours, and fleet management.
• Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
• Hands-on, confident decision-maker with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
