Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, forward thinking and motivated OT to join the Integrated Neurotherapy Team, working across Ellesmere Port Hospital (EPH) and the Countess of Chester Hospital (COCH).

We are looking for an OT with a special interest Neurological rehabilitation to work in our integrated team which covers a 24 bedded acute stroke unit based at COCH, a 17 bedded Rehab Stroke unit based at EPH and our community Neurotherapy service also based at EPH. It involves the treatment and management of complex Neurological patients and provides an excellent opportunity for a clinician to develop and extend their knowledge and skills. You will not only be responsible for managing your own case load but also be responsible for contributing to the overall management of complex patients within the multi-disciplinary team. Good time management, excellent communication skills and self-motivation are essential to this role.

You will be encouraged to contribute to service development through continuous improvement projects and an opportunity to contribute to the NROL project (Neuro Rehabilitation OnLine) which is currently being hosted by COCH.

Shortlisting for this vacancy is due to commence on 21/01/2026 and the proposed interview date is 03/02/2026.
1. Work as an autonomous practitioner and part of an established MDT, undertaking specialist assessment and treatment to a variety of complex neurological patients with a variety of conditions including stroke and long-term neurological conditions across the whole of the integrated Neurotherapy Team. This includes working and rotating through the acute stroke unit, the rehab stroke unit and the community setting.
2. To be responsible for planning, organising own and more junior members of staff's caseload and to meet service and patient priorities. To provide both education and supervision to more junior members of staff.
3. To actively participate in all processes across the integrated team and actively be involved in service development through continuous improvement projects.
4. To organise and participate in reviews, case conferences and referral meetings as appropriate and provide specialist advice and support to the MDT, facilitating team decisions regarding patients.
5. Participate in a weekend acute stroke rota to provide assessment and treatment to new stroke patients and those deemed as appropriate by the acute team.
