Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Haringey to recruit an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to deliver high-quality support across Key Stage 2. This varied role provides a blend of PPA cover teaching, whole-class support, and targeted SEN intervention, offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner seeking leadership, variety, and impact.
About the Role
As an HLTA you will work closely with class teachers, the SENCo, and senior leaders to maintain continuity of learning and support across the school. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing PPA cover across KS2, delivering planned lessons with confidence and strong behaviour management.
- Supporting whole class learning during teacher-led sessions, modelling high expectations.
- Leading small group and targeted SEN interventions in English, maths, communication, and behaviour strategies.
- Adapting tasks and scaffolding learning to meet individual pupil needs, including those with SEN.
- Collaborating with colleagues to monitor progress and adjust support approaches where needed.
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as an HLTA, Senior TA, or highly capable Teaching Assistant.
- Confident delivering lessons and managing classes across KS2.
- Strong behaviour management strategies and the ability to maintain engagement and focus.
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN and SEMH presentations.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive and reflective approach.
- Able to work collaboratively and adapt to the needs of the school and learners.
