Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll & Pensions Administrator to join the Finance Department at Edge Hill University, this role provides an effective and efficient Payroll and Pensions administration service.
Your main duties will include:
To be responsible for providing accurate and timely production of the university's payments i.e. salaries, expenses and bursaries, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation including PAYE, NI, SSP SMP.
Being first point of contact for staff payroll and pension queries, and ensuring the efficient operation of auto-enrolment, starters and leavers processing, additional hours claims processing and the provision
To process amendments to contracts, terminations and monitoring of fixed term contracts, updating the payroll/HR information systems and ensuring appropriate action is taken, relevant letters are issued, and amendments are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

About You
As Payroll & Pensions Administrator, you will have:
Previous experience working in a busy Payroll or Pensions role with working knowledge of statutory payments and deductions including PAYE, NI, SSP and SMP
An understanding of the public sector pension scheme rules and of statutory legislation relating to occupational pension schemes including an awareness of the consequences of not adhering to legislation
An understanding of the boundaries and importance of professional confidentiality and data protection
Competent and adaptable in utilising technology to maximise service impact, including Payroll/HR systems, Microsoft products especially Excel
