Olympia is an iconic venue and undergoing a period of significant change, described as London’s most ambitious transformation, work is currently underway to remodel the estate into a world class cultural hub. Once complete, the estate will include a new theatre, music venue, two hotels, over thirty eateries, world-class office space and over two acres of public realm.

The Role
The Logistics Security Officer at Olympia ensures the safety and security of the logistics and loading bay area. Responsibilities include monitoring vehicular access, verifying driver credentials, inspecting vehicles and cargo, and coordinating loading operations. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for all stakeholders.
As part of a skilled team of SIA licenced security and customer service professionals, you will be motivated, approachable, flexible, and dependable. You will demonstrate service excellence through all interactions with stakeholders, including our customer, resident businesses, and members of the public. This role is about more than just security; it’s about making a difference through supporting our customers in their local community. - At least 18 years old - licence requirement by the Security Industry Authority.

- Ideally SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence holders.
- SIA CCTV licence holders.
- Able to work 12-hour shifts covering days, nights and weekends.
Your core responsibilities will include
Access Control & Vehicle Screening
- Monitor and control all vehicular access to the loading bay, ensuring only authorised deliveries, contractors, and service vehicles are permitted entry.
- Verify driver credentials, delivery manifests, and vehicle details using ANPR systems, access control terminals, and visitor management platforms.
- Conduct visual inspections and, where required, assist with screening of vehicles and cargo in accordance with estate security protocols.
Security of Goods-In and Goods-Out
- Oversee the secure movement of goods entering and exiting the estate via the loading bay, ensuring chain-of-custody integrity.
- Prevent unauthorised removal of property or materials by verifying documentation and matching items to approved manifests.
- Monitor for signs of tampering, theft, or suspicious packages and report immediately to the Control Room.
Surveillance & Monitoring
- Maintain situational awareness of the loading bay area through direct observation and CCTV monitoring.
- Identify and report suspicious behaviour, loitering, or unauthorised access attempts in or around the loading zone.
- Ensure all security systems (e.g., ANPR, CCTV, intercoms) are operational and report faults promptly.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with delivery personnel, contractors, facilities teams, and tenant representatives to coordinate safe and efficient loading operations.
- Maintain constant communication with the Control Room and other security personnel via radio and digital platforms.
- Support coordination of high-risk or high-value deliveries with enhanced security measures as required.
Health, Safety & Emergency Response
- Enforce loading bay safety protocols, including vehicle movement control, pedestrian segregation, and PPE compliance.
- Respond to incidents such as vehicle accidents, spills, or fire alarms in the loading area, and initiate emergency procedures as needed.
- Assist emergency services with access and information during incidents affecting the loading zone.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs of all vehicle entries, deliveries, incidents, and inspections using digital reporting tools.
- Complete incident reports and handover notes in a timely and professional manner.
- Support audits and compliance checks by providing documentation and access to records.
Compliance & Professional Standards
- Uphold Olympia’s standards of appearance, conduct, and confidentiality.
- Participate in regular training on vehicle screening, emergency response, and estate-specific procedures.
Skills & Experience
- Able to operate individually and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- SIA Door Supervision licence holder.
- 5 years checkable work and address history.
- Experienced in customer-facing roles and busy working environments.
- Experience covering a range of settings is desirable i.e. loading bay, gatehouse, corporate, commercial, retail, events.
- A team player, flexible and supportive, putting team goals first.
- Effective people skills, able to interact with colleagues, customers, and members of the public in a positive and professional manner.
