An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join and work with the Cancer Data Team on a permanent, part-time contract.

The team plays a major part in the overall patient experience and journey. You will have excellent communication skills, be effective in working closely with clinical and non-clinical staff and have a flexible and patient centered approach. You will also have a minimum of 2 years previous administrative experience, ideally with experience of working with databases and understanding data collection processes.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cancer services and delivering improved outcomes for our patients. You must be able to organise and prioritise your own workload to meet the requirements of the role, have the ability to function and communicate effectively as part of a team, the ability to exercise sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice.

The role will require a high level of data accuracy, good organisational skills, and to be able to prioritise your own workload in order to meet deadlines and ensure high standards of services are maintained.

Organise regular multi-disciplinary team meetings where all core members are in attendance and keep a comprehensive schedule of all team meetings.

Communicate to all core MDT members any cancellation or change in venue, date and time of meetings.

Arrange provisions for all MDT meetings that take place during lunchtime, alerting providers of any cancellation or change in venue and timetable.

Compile lists of patients to be discussed at the next MDT meeting in conjunction with CNS advice and clinicians’ requests.

Prepare and circulate agendas prior to each MDT meeting.

Ensure that all required medical notes and relevant diagnostic test results are available for the MDT meeting.

Prepare an MDT pro-forma for each patient to be discussed.

Prepare MDT meeting facilities and ensure radiology and pathology equipment is available and functioning.

Ensure that teleconferencing equipment is operational and facilitate its use during meetings that require multi-site video links.

Keep a register of attendance at each MDT meeting of all core and non-core members.

Ensure decisions, management and treatment plans are recorded on the MDT proforma and signed for appropriately.

You will have experience of identifying and rectifying data quality issues and introducing procedures to rectify problem areas, experience of handling highly sensitive information and knowledge of the NHS long term plan, national cancer waiting times dataset and cancer outcomes services dataset. Advanced computer skills are essential.

This role has potential to be a hybrid working role - Working from home and in the office.
