Summary


We are seeking a highly organised and proactiveWard Administratorto join our dynamic team Custom House. As a key member of the ward team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the ward, providing administrative and clerical support to nursing and medical staff, and helping to maintain the highest standard of patient care.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to working within a patient-centred environment. You will be responsible for managing patient records, coordinating appointments and patient flow, and supporting the overall administration of the ward. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy healthcare setting and is looking to make a real difference to the patient experience.
• Administrative Support: Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the ward team, including medical and nursing staff, ensuring all daily tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
• Patient Records Management: Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all information is up to date and complies with legal and confidentiality standards. Assist in the preparation and management of patient discharge documentation.
• Appointment Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, tests, and procedures, ensuring smooth coordination between the ward, outpatient services, and diagnostic departments.
• Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors, and multidisciplinary teams, dealing with queries professionally and providing clear, accurate information.
• Ward Inventory and Supplies: Assist with the management of ward supplies and equipment, ensuring stock levels are maintained and requisitions are submitted as needed.
• Patient Admission/Discharge: Support the admission and discharge process by ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and entered into the system, facilitating a smooth transition for patients.
• Data Entry and Reporting: Enter and maintain accurate data in the hospital’s information systems, including patient details, treatment information, and ward statistics.
• Compliance and Policies: Ensure that all administrative activities comply with NHS regulations, Barts Health policies, and data protection guidelines.
