The starting salary will be from £33,951 on Grade E, depending on qualifications and experience.


This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.

Summary of the role

The above permanent post is available immediately, based on the Streatham Campus. The post holder will be required to be on Streatham campus at least once a week for staff anchor day.

We are looking for a Global Opportunities Officer (Outbound) to manage the operation of outbound exchange mobility programmes, ensuring a seamless journey for University of Exeter students from recruitment to departure.

This role involves leading a team to deliver high-quality support to exchange students, ensuring smooth processes from recruitment to departure. You will work closely with the Global Opportunities Outbound Manager, senior university stakeholders, and international partners to enhance operations, to optimize workflows, and contribute to the success of the outbound mobility programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Outbound Manager in developing and implementing Outbound mobility strategies by collating market research, monitoring and reporting progress, evaluating the effectiveness of strategies and communicating plans and updates to stakeholders.

Lead the Outbound Support Officers and Administrator and provide guidance, training, and workload management.

Oversee the team’s policies, procedures, and compliance with regulations.

Act as the first point of escalation for team queries and student issues, ensuring prompt resolution.

Oversee data management, ensuring student records are accurate and communicating insights to stakeholders via reports, presentations and meeting updates.

About You:

Experience in higher education administration, student mobility, or student support.

Strong team management skills, with experience guiding staff and managing workflows.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement experience.

A proactive and student-focused approach to service delivery including early engagement with students, personalised support, responsive communication, inclusive activities, and continuous improvement.

Strong organisational and analytical skills, with experience in data management and reporting.
