Summary
Art & Secondary Cover Teacher
The Role: Stability Meets VarietyAre you an Art Specialist looking for the security of a single school site without the heavy workload of a permanent classroom teacher?
We are seeking a reliable and creative educator to join a local secondary school as an internal cover teacher. Unlike traditional "roving" agency supply, this role is based exclusively at one school site, allowing you to become a familiar face in the staff room and a consistent mentor for students. You will be the primary specialist for Art department cover, while also providing high-quality lesson delivery across the wider secondary curriculum as needed.
Core Responsibilities-
Art Specialist Cover: Lead practical lessons in Art & Design, ensuring students remain focused on their creative projects and portfolio work.
-
Whole-School Support: Oversee pre-set lessons across various subjects (such as English, Humanities, or PE) when Art cover is not required.
-
Classroom Management: Maintain high standards of behaviour and a positive learning atmosphere using the school's established policies.
-
Integration: Work as part of a cohesive team, supporting the school's ethos and participating in the daily life of the campus.
-
DBS Update Service: You must hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate currently registered on the Update Service to ensure a immediate start.
-
Subject Knowledge: A strong background or qualification in Art & Design is desirable.
-
Versatility: The confidence to step into any classroom and deliver a lesson with enthusiasm and authority.
-
Professionalism: A dedicated approach to student safeguarding and academic progress.
This role offers the perfect balance of professional stability and daily variety. By working at a single site, you eliminate the stress of a changing daily commute and the uncertainty of different environments. You will benefit from being a fully integrated member of the school community, with access to staff facilities, internal briefings, and a supportive network of colleagues.
