Summary

The Adaptations Supervisor will support the delivery of an efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused Aids and Adaptations service within the Housing Contract Management division. The role supports the Adaptations Manager in coordinating adaptation design, inspection, and delivery in line with statutory requirements, best practice, and council policies.

The post holder will carry out home visits to undertake technical inspections and advise on reasonable and practicable adaptation solutions for disabled residents. This includes producing and interpreting AutoCAD drawings, developing detailed schedules of work, and ensuring adaptations meet Occupational Therapist specifications and health and safety standards.

The role requires proven proficiency in AutoCAD and significant experience in adaptation surveying, including inspecting properties, diagnosing defects, and assessing suitability for adaptation works. Candidates without demonstrable AutoCAD experience and adaptation surveying background will not be considered.

The Adaptations Supervisor will monitor contractor performance, coordinate works on site, carry out post-completion inspections, and ensure works are completed to specification, on time, and to an acceptable standard. The role involves liaising with contractors, internal council teams, and partner organisations to resolve issues and maintain service quality.

The post holder will contribute to performance monitoring, customer satisfaction, service improvement, and compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, data protection, and financial regulations. Accurate record keeping, effective communication, and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential.

This role requires a relevant building-related qualification or equivalent experience, strong technical knowledge of building pathology and property standards, and the ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
