Summary
Main Duties
To effectively deliver the EYFS ensuring that the individual needs and interest of the children in the setting are met (in conjunction with team members)
To plan and implement activities to support the children's learning and development.
To work with peers to have input on the settings curriculum.
To provide children with the opportunities to learn and develop, offering an appropriate level of support and play experiences focused on their individual needs.
To use children’s chosen methods of play and learning and choice of resources where possible and to extend their play and learning in new and stimulating ways.
To manage the record keeping of your key children’s development and learning journeys and share with parent,carers, professional and other key adults in the child’s life.
To work as part of a team to maintain exemplary practice.
To work alongside the SEND with any children's requirements for children with additional needs
To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communication with parents/carers and professionals to facilitate day to day caring and early learning needs.
To work alongside the manager and staff to ensure that the settings philosophy is fulfilled and the high-quality environment is maintained.
To ensure that all staff have an awareness of any child’s specific needs, disabilities, British and family values, cultures and medical history.
To advise the Managing Director/ Room Manager of any concerns relating to children, parents, safeguarding and the safety of the environment (Whilst preserving confidentiality where necessary)
To continue to ensure that each area of provision is safe for children and adults.
To actively participate in additional activities such as training, staff meeting, reviews and appraisals
To attend training courses as requested and to be committed to your continuous professional development.
To develop your role as a Play and Learning Practitioner within the team, support colleagues and children’s development.
To read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the safe environment of the setting.
To provide cover for sickness and absence where possible.
To undertake and lead on additional responsibilities such as Safeguarding and Health and Safety etc.
To be aware of the high profile of the setting and to uphold its standards always, both in and outside of working hours.
To undertake any additional duties as and when requested which are commensurate with this post
